It may be winter right now but in a matter of a few weeks our season starts. Our pits are already running. This season we knew we wanted some fun with music. We also wanted to make sure our BBQ competitions became a little more scientific . Amazon voice assistant Alexa was our first step to BBQ fun and BBQ technology. We chose Alexa because it works perfectly with our Flame Boss 200.
Flame Boss, is the maker of an Internet connected digital thermometer for checking the internal temperature of meats, among other things, is debuting a way for users of Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa, to get help competitions too. All they have to do is ask Alexa. You can find out your Pit temperature and meat doneness with just a simple voice command. Flame Boss already set the bar high with their mobile technology interface when they created the Flame Boss 200 with WIFI.
Flame Boss and Alexa work so well together…
My 7 year old can even ask “Alexa, What’s my Flame Boss temperature?,” and Alexa, then responds, with the temperature. You can also ask Alexa how long your meats have been cooking too. Your Flame Boss page is read to you so simply or you can glance at your phone at 4am. Either way you get a few more seconds to relax at an already stressful event.
It is just the latest skill for Alexa, which answers questions and lets users order items like charcoal and other BBQ accessories from Amazon. Over the past year, a number of home automation and smart device companies have built their own skills that let users turn their lights on using their voice and control their thermostats. It only seems logical that your next competions would be automated too.
Flame Boss’s digital Wi-Fi thermometer, which is available on Amazon. The added technology of Alexa, mobile app capability, tracking meat temperatures, also checks the ambient temperature in pit a price point if $330 is more than perfect .
